Dear Fellow Rotarians and Friends,

The month ahead is a particularly busy one. Many clubs have their major fundraising activity or are in the midst of planning it. A number of them have flyers in this addition of Our Times. How about we all endeavour to get to most of them and support our fellow Rotarians in their fund raising efforts.

The President Elect Training Seminar is to be held in Northam on 12-14th March and preparations are well underway to ensure we have a new group of enthusiastic President Elects ready to kick start our new District.

Our membership continues to  increase. Our newest club, the Rotary Club of Crawley was chartered on the 2nd February and had its first guest speaker meeting last Thursday with over 60 members present. Their Charter will be officially presented on 15th April. The proposed Rotary Club of Mindarrie will hold its first meeting next week to elect office bearers and it hopes to charter before our conference. Our heartiest congratulations go to those behind the efforts in raising these two new clubs and a warm welcome to all the new and potential Rotarians.

The RYLA camp was again a huge success. Those that attended the excellent dinner prepared by the participants will attest to its success and the outstanding change shown by so many of the students. Congratulations to all, especially to the effort in getting 3 students down from Kununurra.

A BIG REMINDER - PLEASE REGISTER NOW FOR CONFERENCE.

Make it easier on the organisers. I cannot understand why many Rotarians leave it to the last minute to register or rsvp to events. Make a committment NOW and do it. Why come? Well it is our last conference as D9450 and we plan to celebrate it. There are excellent speakers. It gives you a great opportunity to meet up with both old and new friends DONT FORGET TO INCLUDE YOUR PARTNER. The conference is as much for them as you. I look forward to seeing you all there. Remember, the banquet is restricted to the first 300, so get in early.

Regards,

Geoff Simpson
